Managing your user profile and account security
The user account is what signs into Sliptree. It is separate from the businesses the user works in: a password change applies everywhere, and deleting the user account removes access to every business.
All of the settings below live on the Personal settings page, reached from the user menu in the top right of the navigation.
Profile Information
Holds the name shown to colleagues and the email address used for signing in and receiving notifications. Changing the email sends a verification link to the new address; the old email keeps working until the link is clicked. If the link does not arrive, see I didn't receive an email verification link.
Update Password
Sets a new password after re-entering the current one. The current browser stays signed in. Other active sessions are not signed out by a password change — see Browser Sessions below.
A strong, unique password (stored in a password manager) is the single biggest improvement to account security. Combine it with two-factor authentication for full protection.
Browser Sessions
Lists every device and browser currently signed in. Log Out Other Browser Sessions terminates every session except the current one, after a password confirmation.
Identity Verification
Connects the user to a national ID. This is required for sending e-invoices on behalf of businesses the user has the right to represent — the e-invoicing network needs a verified person, not just an email address.
Currently supported: Estonian e-ID via the Estonian electronic identity (EEID) service. The section shows the verified name, personal ID code, and verification date once complete. Verifying once unlocks e-invoicing across every business where the user has the appropriate role. See Setting up e-invoicing.
Delete Account
Permanently removes the user. Requires password confirmation. Before deletion:
- Owners of any business must delete those businesses first — they do not disappear with the user account. Ownership transfer is not currently supported in-app; contact support before deleting if someone else should take the business over.
- Members of businesses owned by other people are removed from them; the business's data is untouched.
Account deletion is final. Data can only be restored from backups in narrow circumstances and within a short window — contact support immediately if a deletion was a mistake.
