Dashboard and business metrics
The dashboard is the first thing you see after logging in. It gives you a one-glance view of where your sales stand for the selected period, plus a short list of recent invoices.
The date range selector
Every metric on the dashboard is scoped to the selected period — last 30 days, last quarter, this year, and so on. Switching the range recalculates every tile. Sliptree remembers the last range you used and brings it back on your next visit.
What each metric counts
Total sales
The sum of all invoices and credit notes issued in the selected period, excluding drafts. Credit notes count as negative amounts, so an issued credit note reduces the total — same as in your accounting.
Outstanding invoices
All unpaid invoices issued in the selected period, including overdue ones. Drafts, credit notes, and credited invoices are excluded. The figure represents how much you're still owed for work invoiced during that period.
Overdue invoices
A subset of outstanding: only invoices whose due date has passed without being fully paid. Tracked separately so you can see the at-risk portion of your receivables at a glance.
Pending estimates
Estimates that have been sent or viewed by a customer but not yet accepted, declined, or expired. These are the deals still in play. See How estimate status works for the full status lifecycle.
Multi-currency on the dashboard
Each invoice keeps the currency it was issued in, but the dashboard shows a single combined total in your business's primary currency. To do that, Sliptree converts every non-primary-currency document at the exchange rate stored on that document — the rate captured when the invoice was created or last updated, not today's rate.
This means the totals stay stable over time: a USD invoice issued at 1.08 EUR/USD always contributes the same EUR amount to your dashboard total, even if the rate changes later. For the full picture of how exchange rates are captured and stored per document, see Multi-currency invoicing and exchange rates.
Recent activity
The Recent invoices list shows the most recently issued invoices (drafts excluded). Click any row to open the invoice. For a broader view of activity on a specific document, the Activity panel on each invoice records every status change, send, and payment.
Clicking through to the details
Each metric tile is a link. Clicking Outstanding invoices, for example, takes you straight to the invoice list pre-filtered to unpaid invoices in the same period. From there you can drill in further with list filters.
