Business settings
Business settings is where you configure how your business behaves across the app — language, timezone, default currency, how prices are displayed, and more. Open it from the main navigation.
General
- Language — the language for the business's UI and for the documents you generate. Each user can pick their own UI language in their profile, but the document language defaults to the business setting. See Sending an invoice in a different language for per-document overrides.
- Timezone — used for timestamps in the activity log, scheduled actions, and "today" calculations like invoice due dates.
- Default currency — the currency new invoices and estimates start in. Individual documents can use any currency; see Multi-currency invoicing and exchange rates.
- Price display — choose whether line item prices are shown as net, gross, or split (both shown). You can also toggle whether labels include the price type ("incl. VAT" / "excl. VAT").
Documents and appearance
Invoice-specific and estimate-specific defaults — number format, late fees, line item columns — live under Invoice settings and Estimate settings. See Customising invoices and estimates.
Logo, theme, and colour are under Appearance — see Customising your business appearance.
Customers, products, taxes
These each have their own section in business settings:
- Customers — defaults applied to new customers.
- Products — defaults applied to new products.
- Taxes — manage your tax rates; see Managing tax rates.
Changes to defaults apply only to records created after the change. Existing customers, products, and documents keep the values they had when created.
