Per-document appearance overrides

Most of the time the appearance defaults in your business settings are what you want on every document. Occasionally a single invoice or estimate needs to look different — a different theme for a particular client, an extra column for one project, a different primary colour for a one-off campaign. You can change these on a per-document basis without touching the business defaults.

Opening the panel

While editing an invoice or estimate, click anywhere on the logo area at the top. The Appearance panel opens with the current document's settings.

The Appearance panel open in the document editor, showing theme picker, logo, alignment, and primary color

From there you can change:

  • ThemeModern or Elegant for this document only.
  • Logo alignment — left, right, centred, or full width.
  • Primary color — only takes effect with the Modern theme.

Line item columns

In the same editor, the line item table has its own column toggles — quantity, units, discount, description, and SKU. Toggling these changes only the document you're working on. To change the defaults for future documents instead, go to Business settingsInvoice settings (or Estimate settings) — see Customising invoices and estimates.

What about the logo?

The logo itself can't be replaced per-document — there's one logo per business. If you need to issue documents under a completely different brand, consider creating a separate business — see Creating an additional business.
