Notifications you receive from Sliptree

Sliptree sends you a small, focused set of notifications — mostly by email, occasionally as an in-app banner. They fall into four buckets: document delivery, imports, billing, and referrals.

Document delivery

When you email an invoice or estimate to a customer, Sliptree tracks what happens to that message and lets you know if something goes wrong.

  • Bounced — the receiving mail server rejected the message permanently (typically a misspelled or non-existent address). You'll get an email so you can fix the address and resend. Bounces are also recorded in the document's Activity panel.
  • Send failed — the message couldn't be delivered at all (transient delivery error, a downstream block, or a problem with the e-invoice operator). Same flow as a bounce: email notification plus an entry in the Activity panel.

See Sending invoices and estimates by email for the full sending flow and what to do when a delivery fails.

Import results

When a customer import or product import finishes processing in the background, Sliptree emails you a summary: how many rows imported successfully, how many were skipped, and the reason for each skip. The email goes to whichever user kicked off the import.

Billing alerts

These all go to the company's billing email (set on the Billing page; see Payment methods and billing email) rather than your personal account email.

Typical billing notifications include payment-failure notices, card-expiry reminders, upcoming-renewal heads-ups, and trial-end notices. When the trial ends, an in-app banner also appears asking you to pick a plan.

Referrals

If you've shared a referral link and someone signs up through it, you'll get an email when they convert to a paid plan and a credit lands on your account. The matching welcome credit email goes to the referred company. See Referral program for the rules.

Email vs. in-app

Most notifications are email-only — the goal is to reach you even when you're not logged in. A few of them (trial ended, in particular) also surface as a banner inside the app so you can act on them immediately. You don't need to configure delivery channels; Sliptree picks the right one for each notification.

There's no notification preferences screen — every email Sliptree sends you is operational, not marketing. We don't send digests or "you might like" emails.
