How do I sign up?

Signing up for Sliptree takes a couple of minutes. The flow has three parts: you create a personal user account, you verify your email, and you set up the first business you'll invoice from.

User accounts and businesses

It helps to understand the distinction up front:

  • A user account is you — your name, email, and password. You have one user account no matter how many businesses you work with.
  • A business is a company you invoice from — its name, registration number, VAT details, customers, products, and invoices. Each business has its own data, its own settings, and its own members.

The same user account can belong to several businesses. You'll be able to switch between them later from the menu in the top-right of the app, and someone (an accountant, a co-founder, a colleague) can invite you to join their business without you needing a second login.

When you sign up, you create your user account and your first business in one flow. You can create or join more businesses later.

Creating your user account

  1. Go to the sign-up page.
  2. Enter your name, email, and a password, and accept the Terms of Service.
  3. We'll send a verification link to your email — click it to confirm the address.

If the verification email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, see I didn't receive an email verification link.

Setting up your first business

Once your email is verified, Sliptree asks for the details of the business you'll be invoicing from. There are two ways to enter them:

  • Automatic lookup. If your business is based in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Norway, or Belgium, start typing the company name and pick the right match from the suggestions. We'll fill in the registration number, VAT number, and address from the local business registry.
  • Manual entry. If your business is in any other country, or if you prefer to enter the details yourself, fill in the form by hand.

You can refine company details, payment information, and branding later from Business settings.

Joining an existing business by invitation

If you've been invited to an existing Sliptree business (by an Owner or Admin of that business), the invitation email already contains a link that brings you straight to the signup form with the email field pre-filled. After creating your user account, you join the inviting business directly — you don't need to set up your own.

See Managing business members for how invitations work on the receiving end of that flow.
